Summer 2017: Making Memories

I may have a problem. I sat down at the computer to download our summer photos and there were 1,024. ONE THOUSAND and TWENTY-FOUR people! What the heck am I going to do with all those photos? That was AFTER I deleted the ones I didn’t want AND that doesn’t include the ones I took from whatever I-phone was closest to me at the moment.  (Taking photos on other peoples phones is a problem, too, because sometimes said phone ends up coming home with me. Sorry Michael.) No matter how much I get overwhelmed when I sit down to download these photos, I won’t stop. I love laughing, smiling and sometimes crying over the memories made. A prime example came on August 8th as I scrolled through photos and videos from Hannah Grace’s birth. Oh the joy that was captured in those photos! Of course there was sadness, too, as I looked back at Papa Ace holding Hannah Grace. He is no longer on this earth with us, but I felt like he was right here with me as he sang to her. So my children may roll their eyes when I start snapping photos, but one day I hope they will love looking back on these memories, too.

Here is a shorter version of the 1,024 photos captured:

Anna Catherine and I took Mom to Charleston to celebrate her 70th birthday. Oh the giggles we shared!

My ritual sunset post.

Hannah Grace's first college tour was at Coastal Carolina. She was convinced it was the place for her after the visit.

Basketball camp is always on our agenda.

I am lucky to have the best sister in the world!

After Murrells Inlet, we headed to Cape San Blas for the Rutland vacation.

Ellis and John check out a hermit crab while a fierce game of beach golf goes on in the background.

Giggy and her grands

A tradition of visiting Hole in the Wall in Appalachicola

Who let the guy in the Bama shirt in?!

My favorite new Rutland beach tradition is roasting marshmallows on the beach!

Our next stop was PCB. Lucky for the kiddos, they have fun cousins wherever they go!

A trip to Florida wouldn't be the same without Cousins Night Out (sans children)!

The younger generation

Colette had me laughing as much this day as when I met her 25 years ago!

This crew was excited to bring home the trophy from the Ellis Brothers' Golf Tournament.

Lovin' the moon captured behind these beautiful girls!

There was so much to fit in to our trip in Florida, but I think we did it!

On our way to Alabama, we stopped to visit my 92 year old Uncle Bill. As usual, he had us in stitches!

Toasting (with sparkling grape juice) their Papa and Grammy on their 48th wedding anniversary.

The love birds

What is better than shopping with my BFF? Shopping with my BFF AND mimosas!

Thrilled to have the gang back together again!

Gotta love Pawpaw's smile! We missed you, Daryl!

A special treat this summer was getting to visit with Sydney. Sydney is Hannah Grace's friend from Manila that recently moved to Summerville. She just happened to be in Clemson the same week as us! We introduced her to tubing and water skiing.

This crew had a ball at Breakout Greenville! The last time they were all together, they were elementary age and younger. Watching them drive away from Clemson to Greenville had my head spinning!

One of my highlights when I get to Clemson is dancing (Jazzercise) with this sweet thing!

Hannah Grace's second college tour was at Clemson. Remember how she was sold on Coastal Carolina? Ha! She loved Clemson just as much! Of course!

I am not sure a summer is valid without lake time with the McInnis's!

Our visit ended in Cartersville, Georgia with birthday cake and porch time!
