Philippians 4:6 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Do you know how many times I have repeated that verse in 2020? More than I can count! First we had the volcanic eruption and now the quarantine of Metro Manila. Philippians 4:6 is just on repeat in my head!
I listened to Duterte (Philippine President) last night as he announced the quarantine. I don’t speak Tagalog, so part of it was comical as a group chat went on between my friends trying to decipher what was being said. Here is what I know:
Ellis will do on-line school at least until April 14th.
Tony is slammed at work.
I had my last bootcamp today for weeks/months.
I can still go to the store. I can still order water. Fingers crossed that doesn't change!
I can’t go to my golf course.
I can’t travel domestically. If I leave internationally, I won’t be coming back…for now.
The question remains: Do I stay or do I go? I have my daughter in the states and my husband who can’t leave work here. Think I will go stick my head in the sand…..or my toes in the pool.
Listening (but not understanding) Duterte address the Philippines.
Our new "norm". I kind of like having a buddy around all day. It is Day 1, though. Ask me again next week. I am so glad he is old enough to do all of this work on his own! Bless my friends with littles!
In the meantime, Alabang has gone mad! This was the grocery store on Wednesday. I just needed some fresh veggies. 😩
These buggies weren't even occupied! As my friend said, "They need to be worried more about salmonella than coronavirus!" That is raw chicken, people!
Here is where I will be until this settles.....or I head to the states!
Stay safe y'all!
