Surprise! Surprise!

“Spontaneous” is not exactly my middle name. I like to mull things over, ask for opinions, change my mind one million times. So when I made a last minute decision to fly to the states, I surprised myself and several others with my spontaneity.  “Surprise”, now that has a better ring to it. I LOVE surprises! Two weeks ago, I pulled off my two biggest…at least for this year!

On March 11th, my sweet hubby booked a flight for me to the states. The next day, I was on a plane to Atlanta. After a long flight, my sister  and precious nephew picked me up at the airport where we headed off for New Orleans to surprise our parents and to watch Coastal Carolina play in the Sun Belt Tournament.

There are no photos to capture the giggles and craziness we had on our way to New Orleans, but here are some from when we got there:

I haven't figured out how to add videos to my blog, so here is a screenshot of me surprising my parents at the hotel. I LOVE IT!

There was no time to waste! While Dad met with his team, the rest of us headed straight to Royal House. This place has the BEST Chargrilled Oysters!

I may have eaten a lot on this trip! Later that same day, here we are with the team at Deanie's. Oysters and Crawfish in one day...YES!!!

The Food Fest continues with beignets!

Clay taught Micah how to spray the powdered sugar. We were all covered by the end!

"CHANTS UP!"

Sweet friends from Mobile (Morgan and Suzanne) made the trek over for the game. They always put a smile on my face!

The day after the game, we all rode the street car to the Garden District. After walking around the Garden District, we had lunch at Basin Seafood on Magazine Street. I only mention this so that I will remember where I was when I had the best Oyster Po-Boy in New Orleans!

Just across the street from Basin Seafood is Big Fisherman, home of THE BEST boiled crawfish in New Orleans! So good that we CARRIED 15 pounds on the 2 1/2 mile walk back to our hotel.

Crawfish Selfie!

Despite the loss, we had several fabulous days of family time and incredible eating! Dad had to head back to work, but the rest of us had another surprise to pull off!

While I was in New Orleans, Hannah Grace had no idea I was in the states. I dodged every phone call…I swear she has never called me so much! On Saturday, we hopped back in the car to head to Georgia, bringing along my mom and brother this time.  The surprise was fantastic, followed by a trip to Gainesville to watch Hannah Grace in one of her golf tournaments.

Another screenshot from a video...I LOVE her face!

Technology is wonderful, but there is nothing like an actual squeeze of your baby girl!

I love that my family was there to help me pull of the surprise!

I think Micah would make a great caddie for Hannah Grace!

Cutest little spectator!

After the practice round, we said "see ya later" to my sweet family and I had Hannah Grace all to myself the next two days. Dang, was it cold!

It warmed up a smidgen, but not enough for a skirt!

On Monday, Hannah Grace played with Isabella.

On Tuesday Hannah Grace was paired with Emma. Oh my word, those two crack me up! I am glad they have fun!

It was a whirlwind of a week, but incredibly worth it! I, however, was not "ALL IN" when my flight got diverted in Japan. My already long travel day turned into 34 hours of travel. It WAS worth it, but not sure I will be doing it again anytime soon!
